About the Humber Bridge
The Humber Bridge (A15) is a single-span suspension bridge crossing the Humber estuary between Hessle in East Riding of Yorkshire and Barton-upon-Humber in Lincolnshire. Opened in 1981, it was the world's longest single-span suspension bridge for 17 years. Managed by the Humber Bridge Board, it carries approximately 120,000 vehicles per week. Closures due to high winds are common and cause significant disruption as the only fixed crossing of the Humber.
The Humber Bridge is managed by Humber Bridge Board. Road closures on the Humber Bridge are reported through the UK government's Street Manager system and appear here in real time.
