About the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge

The Queen Elizabeth II Bridge (M25) is a cable-stayed bridge crossing the River Thames at Dartford, forming part of the Dartford Crossing. Opened in 1991, it carries southbound M25 traffic while the two Dartford Tunnels carry northbound traffic. Managed by National Highways, the bridge is subject to closures in high winds, causing severe disruption on the M25. It is the only road crossing of the Thames east of London.

The Queen Elizabeth II Bridge is managed by National Highways. Road closures on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge are reported through the UK government's Street Manager system and appear here in real time.
